Training - IAHD Dive Partner Course
The rewards from partnering a diver with disabilities can be immensely enjoyable and deeply satisfying. To enable individuals with serious physical disabilities to participate in underwater activities requires a very competent buddy. The IAHD Dive Partner course provides training in how to dive with a physically disabled diver.
Course Prerequisite:
to participate in the Dive Partner course the individual must:-
• be at least 18 years of age |

What is involved:
During the course you will look at a variety of methods for assisting those with sight impairment, hearing impairment, spinal injuries, amputations, etc. and how to adapt or modify normal diving equipment and techniques to the needs of the disabled diver.
You will learn how to
• relate to some of the psychological aspects of someone who has become physically disabled
• develop a foresight in logistic awareness and considerations.
• become more aware of other divers needs, their attitudes and how physical disabilities may relate to scuba diving. |

You will complete 4 open water dives dealing with variety of scenarios, and experience diving in a whole new way.
As a certified IAHD Dive Partner you may dive with certified level 2 divers.
You may also accompany level 3 divers but an IAHD certified Pro member must be directly supervising in the water.
